Types of Import Methods

Understand the derivation paths and types of import methods in a variety of different wallets.

 

Mnemonic Words

These import methods requires a recovery phrase (a set of words) to restore your wallet. These imports will restore ETH, BTC, and LTC wallets using specific derivation paths.

Enjin Smart Wallet

Recovery Phrase: 12 words
Derivation Paths:
ETH - m/44'/60'/0'/0/0
BTC - m/44'/0'/0'/x/y
LTC - m/44'/2'/0'/x/y

Note: Wallets created after the 1.3.7 update on Android / 1.2.7 on iOS (March 2019) and equivalent should be imported using the Enjin Smart Wallet option.

Enjin Smart Wallet (Legacy)

Recovery Phrase: 12 words
Derivation Paths:

Ethereum: These import methods are specific to Ethereum wallets.

• Private Key / MEW - Import ETH wallet with a Private Key.
• Ethereum Keystore / MEW - Import ETH wallet with Keystore data and encryption password.

Bitcoin: These import methods are specific to Bitcoin wallets.

• Private Key / XPRV / WIF - Import BTC wallet with Private Key/Wallet Import Format (WIF). Extended Private Keys (XPRV) are required for importing Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) BTC wallets.
• Keystore / BIP38 - Import BTC wallet with Keystore/BIP38 data and encryption password.

Litecoin: These import methods are specific to Litecoin wallets.

• Private Key / XPRV / WIF - Import LTC wallet with Private Key/Wallet Import Format (WIF). Extended Private Keys (XPRV) are required for importing Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) LTC wallets.
• Keystore / BIP38 - Import LTC wallet with Keystore/BIP38 data and encryption password.
