Learn more information about how to claim your EFI rewards via the Polkadot.js extension
Required Resources
- Before proceeding, it's important to make sure that the wallet which you used to contribute to the Efinity Crowdloan is accessible through the Polkadot{.js} extension in your browser. Without the wallet, you cannot view your balance and claim your tokens.
- You must also ensure that your Polkadot{.js} is configured to allow use on any chain rather than a specific chain.
- If you see “Polkadot” or any other chain name next to your wallet, it means that your Polkadot{.js} wallet is configured only to allow use on that chain, which means Efinity will not be able to use or even recognize that wallet.
The left image shows "Polkadot" on the upper right section of the wallet, indicating that Efinity will not recognize this wallet. The right image shows the correct configuration - no chain is displayed next to the wallet, and Efinity can use and recognize this wallet.
Setting your Polkadot{.js} to display Efinity as a valid blockchain
First, let's make sure the wallet is set to allow use on any chain, so it will be configured correctly to be used in Efinity:
- Open the Polkadot{.js} extension on your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
- Click the 3-dot menu where you see your account/wallet. A pop-up should appear.
- Open the drop-down menu at the bottom of the pop-up and select ”Allow use on any chain”.
Claiming your Efinity (EFI) tokens
Now that your wallet is correctly set up and configured for Efinity, it’s time to claim your EFI.
1. First, head over to the Efinity Explorer page: explorer.efinity.io
2. On the menu bar, navigate to “Accounts,” and select “EFI reward claims” after the Efinity block explorer successfully loads on your browser.
⚠️ Please note: if the "EFI reward claims" option is missing, you are not using the right explorer. make sure you are at explorer.efinity.io.
3. In the “vested accounts” section, your vested amounts will be shown under the “free” column, and the locked amount you can claim will also be displayed.
⚠️ If you cannot see any amount, please head back to the previous “Required Resources” step and make sure it’s set up correctly.
4. To claim your EFI, click on your wallet to expand it, then click the “Claim” button next to the claimable amount.
5. Click on “Sign and Submit.”
6. A transaction pop-up will appear asking you to sign the transaction. Fill in your wallet password and click “Sign the transaction.”
And that’s it!
After a couple of seconds, the transaction should be approved. Your EFI balance will increase, and the locked amount will decrease based on the amount you've claimed.
As with any other transaction on the blockchain, claiming requires paying a small amount of EFI for the transaction fees. Your first claim for rewards will be without charge. However, any subsequent claims will require you to pay EFI fees.
